Who are Our Care Workers

A Day in the Life of a Care Worker – Janice

Hi, my name is Janice and I have worked for the Real Care Agency in the Care Sector for 3 years. I come from a background in childcare and have found that my skills have been completely transferrable to the role of Care Worker. Both areas require more than just caring in order to meet the individual needs and expectations of Service Users.

I find being a Care Worker to be a fantastically rewarding job, my favourite part of being a Care Worker is spending time with my Service Users sharing the personal experiences of the Service Users, particularly through spending time reminiscing. Some Service Users have no family, or family who live far away so it’s lovely to be able to spend time with them on a one to one basis and make sure that they are comforted as needed. Many of our Service Users comment on how reassuring this is for them.

I love working for the Real Care Agency, the most important part of my job as a Care Worker is going above and beyond ‘just caring’. Spending time, effort and company are a huge part of my role.

Working for the Real Care Agency is very rewarding, I always feel I am fully supported at work and can discuss any issues if they arise. I work as part of a Team and always feel the support of my teammates in all areas of the work we do. The flexibility in my role as a Care Worker allows me to pursue my own interests at a time that suits me, as well as fitting in all important family time.

The best thing about the Real Care Agency being a family run business is that I feel completely appreciated and supported as the staff are like family too. They always put the needs of their Service Users first, always ensuring we go above and beyond for each person as an individual.

Ongoing training and development is freely available and allows me to further areas of interest in relation to care that I’m particularly interested in at a time and place which is convenient to me.

A Day in the Life of a Care Worker – Tyne

A Day In the Life - Tyne

Hi, my name is Tyne and I have worked in the Care Sector for over 12 years. I’ve had the pleasure of providing care and support in the Community as well as Nursing/Residential homes and Independent Living facilities.

Being a Care Worker is one of the most rewarding jobs, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. One of the favourite parts of my job is the diversity of duties and expanding my skill set as a Care Worker. I love meeting so many different people – each of them unique, knowing that I make a positive contribution to people’s lives and assisting them in living their lives to the full is very humbling.

I enjoy working with the Real Care Agency as it is a family run business providing the very best local care for local people. My time with Real Care Agency helped me solidify my career choice to become a Care Worker, they gave me the support, training and confidence to go on and achieve my SVQ3 in Health & Social Care and strive through continuous improvement to help their team achieve their full potential.

I now work closely with complex needs clients and couldn’t love it more. Working with Real Care Agency, there are always new challenges to be had and I look forward to my next!

A Day in the Life of a Care Worker – Lynn

My name is Lynn and I have worked for Real Care for 15 years providing care, help & support to our service users in their own homes.

Real Care has supported me through my SVQ in Health & Social Care and continues to support me through my on-going training which helps & allows me to expand my knowledge and skills that I need to help me do my job.

In my 15 years as a care worker I have covered most aspects of care we provide from social support, complex needs to caring for the elderly, which is what I love doing, and the reason I became a care worker in the first place.

It is a privilege knowing my care & support I provide for my service users is allowing them to remain in their own homes and be independent for as long as possible.
